Week 5 Pro Football and College Picks by Liz.
Here are the college games I like this week
Bowling Green to beat and cover the 20.5 points against Eastern Michigan.
This season Eastern Michigan is 0-4 SU and ATS and a streak is a streak.
I also like Tulane to cover the 20 points against Army. Last week Army lost a heartbreaker to Texas A&M and I believe that loss will carry over this week.
Also the home team in this series is 9-2 ATS the last 11 times they met.
And like last week I will stick with my Penn State team to cover the 13.5 points
on the road at Purdue. Penn State is 7-2 ATS the last 9 meetings. Purdue is an awful
7-15 ATS the last 22 home games. Penn State is my choice here to cover the under
2 TDs spread.
This next pick is a revenge game and it’s Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. The past
2 years Texas A&M has beaten Oklahoma State by 1 point. Oklahoma State is by far
this year the better team and I’m sure they will not have any problem running the score
up on A&M. Oklahoma State to easily cover the 25 point spread over Texas A&M and
getting their revenge for 2 years of losing by ONE POINT !!
Florida has to be spitting bullets after losing to Ole Miss last week
AND Arkansas has to be reeling after losing by 30+ points in back to back loses
to Texas and Alabama. The Gators are also 6-0 ATS the past 6 meetings
between these 2 teams. Look for Florida to cover the 24.5 points this week against
an Arkansas team that has to be down.
Virginia Tech is my pick to cover the 4 TDs(28 pts) at home against Western Kentucky.
The Hilltoppers this year have lost on the road by 38 to Kentucky and 34 to Alabama, so
for VT to lay 28 points at home against Western Kentucky seems doable to me.
My last pick this week will be California to cover the 9 points against Arizona State.
Even though Jahvid Best may not be playing the stats favor California.
The home team in this series is 8-2 ATS the last 10 games and Arizona State is 0-4 the last 4 in California.
My underdog play of the week is going to be Baylor to stay within the 27 points against
Oklahoma. This game looks too easy for Oklahoma BUT they have Texas on deck AND
Oklahoma is a dismal 5-11 ATS the week before playing Texas. Hey if Oregon State can
beat USC at home, why can’t Baylor stay within the number at home against Oklahoma.
Good Luck and as always bet with your head and not above it.
Now onto the Pros
I like the Carolina Panthers to cover the 9 point spread at home against Kansas City.
Last week, I picked Denver to win and cover against these same Chiefs and they didn’t
but this week KC is on the road and I think this line would have been higher if KC didn’t
beat Denver last week but that game was at home and this one is on the road against a
very good run defense team. My pick is Carolina to win and cover the 9 points.
How can Dallas lose another one at home? That’s probably why the oddsmakers have
installed a 17.5 point line on this game. Cincinnati is 0-4 for the first time under head
coach Marvin Lewis, and that streak will go to 0-5 after this week. I think after Dallas losing last week against Washington and T.O. spouting off AGAIN that the Boys are going to take out their frustrations on the toothless Bengals, who may be without Carson Palmer again this week. Look for Dallas to win this one by at least 3 TDs.
I also like the over in this game which is 45, I think Dallas will cover this without any
help from the Bengals.
I have to like the Giants this week, yeah yeah I know I’ve been a Giants fan for over 40
years and that biases my opinion but the 7 point spread sure looks tempting to me. I’m
pretty sure it would have been higher if Plaxico was playing this week but because he is
not playing and Seattle is getting back Ingram, Branch and Robinson the line is a TD.
My theory is, does it really matter if Seattle is getting back 3 WRs if Hasselback
doesn’t have time to get them the ball?? The Giants have a horrible time at home against
the spread but this week I think they will cover, after all the Giants haven’t been bad
without Shockey, and I think they will prove they can win without Plaxico too !!
Don’t disappoint me, G-men !!
My last pick has to be New England, I just can’t see them coming off a bye and losing to a Frisco team that is struggling AND the line is only THREE. I will lose a lot of respect
for Billichick if he can’t cover a 3 point spread against the 49ers, with or without Brady.
Well that’s it for this week, GOOD LUCK !!

Wow! 100% straight and 80% against the spread.
