Handicapping by Liz

It’s Thursday October 16th and it’s finally time for my weekly picks, so here goes.
This week in college —
My first pick has to go with the team I’ve been winning with and that’s JoePa’s team, Penn State minus the 24 points at home against Michigan. I’m sure this line would have been a little lower if Michigan hadn’t lost to Toledo last week and Penn State hadn’t destroyed Wisconsin, but I will still back Penn State here at home and on a roll.
Next I’m going to pick Utah who is at home against Colorado State laying 23 points. Colorado State is playing very well but Utah is playing better. Lay the points.
I am also backing New Mexico at home against San Diego State laying 2 TDs. New Mexico is playing well and San Diego State isn’t, it’s a simple as that. Also San Diego State is 1-5 ATS in the last 6 in New Mexico. Lay the 14.
I also like South Florida this week at home against Syracuse. USF is off a bye and Syracuse was lucky last week to be facing a West Virginia team that didn’t have Pat White. I like South Florida at home so lay the 24 points.
Nevada is playing at home against Utah State and the home team is 4-0 ATS the past 4 meetings and that’s a good enough streak for me. Lay the 20 points and take Nevada.
On Friday night I like the blue field team, Boise State at home hosting Hawaii. Hawaii no longer has Colt Brennan and with Hawaii winning this game last year in Hawaii, I just feel that this is payback time for Boise. I don’t normally like the stats that are for a particular day of the week but Boise State is 8-2 ATS the past 10 games played on Friday night and Hawaii is 2-6 ATS the past 8 on Friday night. Lay the 24 points.
I also like Louisville at home hosting Middle Tennessee State. Lay the 14.5 points.
As for underdog plays this week I like a few teams
Washington at home getting 14 points from Oregon State
Navy at home getting 3.5 points from Pttsburgh
Western Michigan on the road getting 3 points from Central Michigan.
UNLV at home getting 4.5 points from Air Force.
And finally, I like Mississippi State on the road at Tennessee getting 8.5 points.

As for the Pros, here’s my take on this week.
I look for the New York Giants to rebound from the awful game they played on Monday night against Cleveland. The 49er’s don’t have the offensive weapons that the Giants do and I’m sure Coughlin is not going to let his team play 2 awful games in a row. Lay the 10.5 points and put a little on the over 46.5 too !!
Next, I will take the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals that once again will be without Carson Palmer(at least at this writing). The Steelers are laying 9.5 points and are coming off a bye. The stats favor the Steelers who are 6-0-1 ATS the last 7 in Cincinnati and the road team is 6-1 ATS the last 7 meetings. Lay the 9.5 points.
I also like the Tampa Bay Bucs this week laying 10.5 points at home against Seattle. Seattle is in total disarray right now and without Hasselbeck it just makes matters worse. I also like the over 38 in this game, which the Bucs might do by themselves.
I like the Over 43.5 points in the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis game. Both teams don’t have a problem letting the other team score 
Other games I am leaning towards are the Titans laying the 9 on the road at Kansas City and the Indianapolis Colts laying a point on the road at Green Bay.
