Week 9 Pro Football and College Picks (week 10) by Liz.
Well it’s the last weekend in October and these are tricks or treats for this week in college.
My first pick will go to West Virginia on the road at Connecticut as long as Pat White is playing
West Virginia has beaten UCONN the past 4 years and well over the current line of 4 points all 4 of those games. I like streaks and I like this one. Lay the 4 points.
Next I like Stanford at home against Washington State laying 30 points. WSU has won the past 2 meetings and this surely is a great time for Stanford to get their revenge. WSU I’m sure can’t wait for this season to be over, and this will be one game closer. Lay the 30 points.
I will also take BYU this week on the road at Colorado State laying 14 points. The road team is 4-1 ATS the last 5 and BYU is the better team here with more to play for than CSU.
I also like Oklahoma State this week at home against Iowa Sate. OSU played a great game last week against Texas and will take out their frustrations this week on Iowa State. Lay the 30.5 points as ISU will not be able to keep up offensively with OSU.
I am backing Florida this week in Jacksonville against Georgia. Georgia won last year’s game in Florida and I’m sure that will just add to Florida’s desire to win this game. Also as everyone knows the loser of this game may not get a BCS bid. Lay the 5.5 points.
And last but not least I am going with Notre Dame again this week at home against Pittsburgh laying 5.5 ponts. Pitt is 1-4 ATS the spread the last 5 times these teams met. Lay the points.
I am also leaning towards a few other games as well:
Louisville(-14), Missouri(-20), Mississippi(-6), Wyoming(-3), and LSU(-25.5)
And last but not least my underdogs this week are:
Texas Tech +6 vs Texas
UTEP +2.5 vs Rice
UAB +8.5 vs So. Miss.
Good Luck and as always bet with your head and not above it.
As for the Pros
My first pick in the pros this week is Minnesota at home against Houston laying 4.5.
The Vikings are off a bye and are 6-2 ATS after the bye. The Texans are 3-8 ATS on the road vs. the NFC. The Texans will get a big dose of AP and that should help Minny cover this small number.
The Buffalo Bills got a big dose of reality last week and hopefully they will learn from it and be prepared for the Jets this week in Buffalo. If the Bills don’t turn the ball over 4 times in the 4th quarter again this week they should cover the 5.5 point spread.
I will also side with Philadelphia this week on the road at Seattle laying 6.5 points.
Philadelphia is 7-3 ATS vs. non-division opponents and Seattle is 3-6 ATS as a non-division home dog.Seattle beat up on the 49ers last week don’t expect the same results this week against a much stronger opponent.
This week I’ve got to take the 6.5 points and New England on the road at Indianapolis.
The bottom line on this game is, the Pats are playing well and the Colts are not.
Take the generous points and the Pats.
My last pick is the Tampa Bay Bucs laying 8.5 points on the road at Kansas City.
Last week Kansas City played their best game of the year. This week however, they get an angry Bucs team who should have won last week in Dallas. The Bucs will cover the number.
As for over/unders this week I like the over 48 in the Arizona/St. Louis game and I also like the over 43 in the Philly/Seattle game and the over 41 in the Dallas/New York game.
Well that’s it for another week, GOOD LUCK !!
