College football is starting to heat up as the season is in full swing. There are a lot of great games on tap this week and these are my college picks.

At the end of my college picks are 2 of my favorite guest handicappers, Moose the Greek making some pro picks and Sweet Baby Ray giving you a few college winners. It’s always a pleasure to have the boys weigh in to give us a few more winners.

Well, last week I went with Syracuse to cover against Akron and they finally did in the 4th quarter. This week however, they are hosting a very powerful Cincinnati team and I just don’t see them staying within the 14 ½ points. I like Cincinnati this week to keep their undefeated season going with a big win at the Carrier Dome against Syracuse, and to boost their standing in the BCS. Cincinnati is 7-1 ATS their last 8 conference games and are currently ranked 7th in the nation. Look for Cincinnati to keep their streak alive with a convincing win over the Orangemen.

My second pick unfortunately does not have a line on the game as of Thursday because Hawaii’s 2nd string, now 1st string QB, may or may not play due to an undisclosed injury. BUT with that being said I like Nevada here laying anywhere from 21 to 28 points. Nevada hasn’t beaten Hawaii since 2005 and with the team they have this year they have more than enough talent to blow Hawaii’s doors off. I like Nevada at home to keep their 4 game winning streak alive and make it 5 in a row against a team they need to beat. Take Nevada if you can get a line under 28 points.

My next best bet is on the red hot Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who have won 5 in a row, playing on the road at Vanderbilt, who has lost 4 in a row, giving Vandy 11 ½ points. These 2 teams are definitely going in different directions as Georgia Tech is 9-2 ATS their last 11 road games, 5-0 ATS their last 5 games, 4-0 ATS their last 4 road games as a favorite and the list of strong trends goes on and on. Take Georgia Tech and lay the 11 ½ points in a game they win for fun at Vanderbilt.

I have to say I really don’t like picking games with big point spreads, but Arkansas is coming home after 2 road games which they lost, and they have to be in a very bad mood. In comes Eastern Michigan who hasn’t won a game this year and I can see this game getting out of hand fast. The point spread on this game is 38 and if Arkansas doesn’t win this game by at least 6 TDs, I will be very surprised. Arkansas’s QB Ryan Mallett should have a big game against a team that I believe is a total mismatch for the Razorbacks. Lay the 38 points and let’s hope Arkansas doesn’t let EMU back door cover.

I don’t normally pick service academies but I do like Air Force this week on the road at Colorado State laying 6 points. Colorado State has not won a game since they beat Nevada in the middle of September and are on a downward spiral. Air Force lost a heartbreaker last week on the road to Utah, so I look for them to stay very focused for this game against CSU. Air Force is also 4-1 ATS the past 5 road games as a favorite and they are 9-1 ATS against teams with losing records. Look for Air Force to cover the 6 points.

Other games I like but not as strong, Texas Tech to cover the 6 ½ points at home against Kansas. North Texas to cover the 11 points at home against Western Kentucky. California to cover the 6 ½ points on the road against Arizona State. Also, UTEP to cover the 7 points at home against UAB. And for the big pointspreads, I like LSU to cover the 35 ½ points at home against Tulane, and Ohio State to cover the 44 points at home against New Mexico St.

My dogs this week are Louisiana Tech getting 3 points on the road at Idaho, Western Michigan getting 2 ½ on the road at Kent State.

As for my over/under bets
I like the over 44 in the Indiana/Iowa game,
the over 45 ½ in the Rutgers/UCONN game,
the over 53 in the SMU/Tulsa game,
and the over 66 in the Western Kentucky/North Texas game.

Well, that’s it for another week, I will be back shortly with my pro picks.

As always bet with your head not over it :)

As promised here’s Moose the Greek and Sweet Baby Ray.

Hey, Moose the Greek back again to help Liz out this week with a couple guest picks. May I first say THANK YOU to Liz for her week 7 pro picks. Thanks to her I cashed in enough to enjoy something besides Macaroni and Cheese this week.

I have two 8 antler picks this week. They are:

The Indianapolis Colts – 13 to dismantle the San Fran 49ers. Manning and the boys will be too much for SF and Alex Smith’s first full week for the 49ers should be a tough one.

My second pick is the Houston Texans -3.5 to remind the Buffalo Bills why they are a team that will probably be lucky to win 5 games this year. Matt Schaub and the Texans passing game will punish the Bills defense.

I called on my old college roommate and Boston College’s Class of 1976 Valedictorian, SWEET BABY RAY for his College picks this week. Alright, we were not college roommates, we didn’t go to Boston College, and Ray wasn’t the Valedictorian, but he is one College Football betting son-of-a-gun. So here are Ray’s picks for this week:

The COLORADO BUFFALOES +4 will send Missouri to the Zoo.

The TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS -6.5 will give the Kansas Jayhawks a Mohawk.

Well that’s it for us this week. I hope this helps you and I hope you enjoy all the games. I have one more piece of advice with Thanksgiving coming up. Buy the BIGGEST bird you can this year. The carcass can only grow so big and the rest is all MEAT. My old friend Gerry Williams told me this 25 years ago. Of course Gerry died from salmonella many years ago but he was a good guy.

One more tidbit for all you Fantasy Football Geeks (like myself) out there. Here are four players who will put up BIG numbers this week. Aaron Rodgers – GB, Steve Slaton – Hou, Marques Colston – NO, and Owen Daniels – Hou. Start em if you got em……..

MOOSE THE GREEK out !!!!!!!!!
