Liz’s NFL Picks week 10
This week’s picks are below and thankfully I won’t have to be subjected to a Giants game again until next week. I just have one thing to say about the game last week, did anybody on the defense think that the only way they could have beaten you is with a touchdown?? and that you have to get it into the end zone to do that?? Then why oh why was that receiver sooooo wide open in the end zone. With a little luck the defense will remember that the next time. I hope a week off will put the Giants back on track.
Well here are my picks for this weekend in the Pros. I did like the 49ers last night but not enough to put them out as a pick and as you could see by the score neither of them really wanted to win, but FIVE picks WOW what a find Cutler was for Bears <smirk>

I’m sure my first pick is no surprise but I’m taking the New Orleans Saints on the road to cover the 13 ½ points at the St. Louis Rams. The Rams are just awful this year and the Saints are on a roll and I’m really surprised this line isn’t higher. The stats for the Saints are amazing, 5-0 ATS their last 5 games as a road favorite, 6-0-1 ATS their last 7 road games and 5-1 ATS against teams with losing records. The only good thing for the Rams is that the Saints wide receiver Colston has the flu and might not play other than that it’s all Saints.
Lay the points this shouldn’t be close.

My second pick shouldn’t surprise you either as I’m taking the Minnesota Vikings at home to cover the 16 ½ points against the Detroit Lions. The Lions and Vikings have exactly opposite records as the Vikings are 7-1 and the Lions are 1-7. The Vikings are 6-1 ATS following a bye week and 4-1 ATS their last 5 games against the NFC North and 4-1 ATS vs. the NFC. The only thing that bothers me about this line is a possible backdoor cover by the Lions but the Vikings defense is rested so I will stay with a Vikings win and cover as my pick.

Well, it’s hard to believe but I actually think the Jets at home this weekend will cover the 7 points against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jets are coming off a bye week and they are 7-0 ATS following a bye week and that is a trend I do follow closely. The Jets lost a heartbreaker to the Dolphins the week before the bye and have had 14 days to stew over it, which should make them chippy for this game. I also read that head coach Ryan wants the Jets fans to be loud on Sunday so hopefully the Jets will give them something to be loud about. So just a gut feeling but I think the Jets will come out fired up for this game and cover the 7 point spread. Come on Mark prove me right :

My last best bet this week is the Dallas Cowboys laying 3 points on the road at the Green Bay Packers. I watched the game last week between Dallas and Philly and it sure looks to me that the Cowboys have figured out their problems and are ready to make a run. I also watched the Packers last week lose to the only team without a win, the Bucs. These are definitely 2 teams going in opposite directions right now and I think the Cowboys are going to win and easily cover the 3 points, even with the game in Green Bay. Happy Brad :
Other games I like as regular plays. I like 2 dogs a lot this weekend, I think the Philadelphia Eagles getting a point from San Diego and the New England Patriots getting a point from Indy could be an outright winners. And although I haven’t been high on the Denver Broncos I think they will cover the 3 ½ points on the road at Washington. I’m also backing the Ravens laying 10 on the road to the Browns and I’m hoping the Titans have finally woken up and will cover the 7 points to the Bills at home.
As for over/under bets, I like the over 41 ½ in the Cincinnati/Pittsburgh game, the over 48 in the Dallas/Green Bay game, and I like the over 43 in the Tampa Bay/Miami game, and finally I like the under 37 in the Kansas City/Oakland game.
Well, that’s it for another week, so as always bet with your head not over it :
