Welcome back football fans to the NFL on Sunday, let’s get started. We already have a win and cover with New Orleans so let’s build on that.

My first pick for Sunday goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars at home giving the Denver Broncos 3 points. I just feel that Denver is in disarray and Jacksonville has for the past 11 years come out of the gate strong going 9-2 ATS. I look for Denver to find it very tough to score not because JAX defense is so good but because the Broncos offense is so bad. Spot the 3 points the Jags will cover.

My second pick (and I know this will make the owner of this website happy) is on the New England Patriots at home to cover the 5 points against the Cincinnati Bengals. I just don’t feel that 85 and TO are going to make that much of a difference in this game as the Pats should come out of the gate with a purpose and being home doesn’t hurt. This will not be a blowout but the Pats will win this game by at least a TD, which is a cover.

Third on my list is the San Francisco 49ers on the road giving 3 points to the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers and Mike Singletary will open up this season with a convincing win over the Seahawks as the Hawks are breaking in a new coach in Pete Carroll. Pete will learn fast that it isn’t as much fun in the pros as it is in college. Also, the Seahawks had the highest percentage of personnel turnover in the offseason. I look for San Francisco to take control of this game early and keep Seattle at least a touchdown away when the final gun sounds.

My last favorite pick goes to the San Diego Chargers on Monday night. The Chargers are on the road at Kansas City giving the Chiefs 4 ½ points. Even though McNeill and Jackson won’t be playing for the Bolts, I just feel that the Chiefs just don’t have the talent yet, to keep up with the Chargers. Lay the 4 ½ points and if history repeats itself the Chargers should win this game by at least a touchdown.

I have a few underdogs that I feel are very live dogs. I know my BFF, Zack will be happy to know that I am backing the Baltimore Ravens on the road to beat the New York Jets on the up, Monday night and the point the Ravens are getting won’t be necessary. I also like the Cleveland Browns on the road getting 2 ½ points from the Tampa Bay Bucs (sorry Deto). I also like the Detroit Lions on the road at the Chicago Bears to keep the game within the 6 ½ points.  I will also take the point with the Pittsburgh Steelers at home against the Atlanta Falcons. Even though big Ben will not be playing, I just like the Steelers at home who have something to prove.

As for over/unders I like the over 44 ½ in the Bengals/Pats game, the over 43 ½ in the Broncos/Jaguars game, and last but not least I like the over 47 ½ in the Colts/Texans game.

I hope to have my guest handicappers, Moose the Greek, Deto and Sweet Baby Ray weigh in on some games this year. So look for them in upcoming weeks.

Well that’s it for this week, now let’s just sit back and enjoy another football season.

As always bet with your head not over it.  :)
