I hope these picks are all winners this week

My first pick this week is Boise State on the road at Nevada, laying 6 points. Boise State is 6-1 ATS the last 7 meetings with Nevada covering for the first time last year at Smurf field. Prior to that Boise State has covered the line by at least 4 TDs all the way back to 1999. With an undefeated season on the line I look for Boise State to take control of this game early and win this game by the small 6 point spread.

Well, this will mark the first time this year I am picking Hawaii, but I do like them at home this week against Idaho laying 23.5 points. Hawaii has been struggling this year after losing QB Colt Brennan but hosting Idaho at home should help with their confidence. Hawaii is 4-0 ATS in this series and they are also coming off a bye, while Idaho got beat up last week by Boise State. This is also Idaho’s first road game since October 18th, while this is Hawaii’s first home game since October 25th. Take Hawaii here to pour it on in front of the home crowd.

I also like Mississippi again this week on the road at LSU getting 4.5 points. It’s rare I make one of my strong picks an underdog but I really like Mississippi getting points. There are a few really strong streaks I like Mississippi in this game. Mississippi is 6-0 ATS the last 6 games at LSU, they are also 6-1 ATS the past 7 meetings. To add to that LSU is 0-6 ATS the last 6 at home and Mississippi is flying high right now securing their first bowl bid since 2003. I like Mississippi to possibly win this game outright but at least to keep it within the 4.5 point spread.

I am picking Rutgers this week at home against Army, laying 17.5 points (Sorry Nick). Army is 0-7 ATS the past 7 against Big East teams and they haven’t beaten Rutgers since 1997. Army is also 0-5 ATS the last 5 against Rutgers. Rutgers is on a 4 game winning streak and is playing to get into the post season. Lay the points.

I am also going to back Ohio State this week coming home after a two game road trip and they won both of them, against a Michigan team that is bad this year. OSU is laying big points as the line is currently at 20.5, but I feel OSU will be able to cover this number as they are still in a hunt for a BCS game and once again Michigan is a bad team this year. As for the stats – OSU is 5-2 ATS the last 7 with Michigan, Michigan hasn’t beaten OSU since 2003, and Michigan is 1-6 SU the past 7 games against OSU. To make matters worse for Michigan their starting QB, Steven Threet, is listed as questionable. Lay the points !!

And last but not least I am going with Tulsa again this week, this time at home against Tulane, laying 28.5 points. I picked Tulsa last week and they got crushed by Houston 70-30 and I should have realized after Tulsa beat Houston the year before 56-7 that revenge was a big factor in that game with Tulsa, but I didn’t, I’ll be more diligent the next time. Now Tulsa is home where they boast a 6-0 ATS the past 6 games and Tulsa has won and covered the past 3 against Tulane. I see this as a chance for Tulsa to take out their frustrations from last week on a weaker opponent and I think they will. Lay the big points as Tulsa wins easily.

I am also leaning towards a few other games as well.
UNLV(-12.5), Notre Dame(-19.5), Iowa(-5.5), and West Virginia(-7).

And last but not least my underdogs this week are:
Texas Tech(+7), Pittsburgh(+5.5), UTEP(+17), and BYU(+6.5).

Good Luck and as always bet with your head and not above it.

As for the Pros,

My first pick in the pros this week is the same as last week’s, the Patriots getting 2 points on the road in Miami. The Dolphins and Patriots are tied for 2nd place in the AFC East so they both need this game to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. The Dolphins embarrassed the Pats in Foxboro, so throw out the stats on this game. New England gets revenge here and will most likely win outright. Belichick will make sure his team doesn’t get burnt again by gadget plays.

I’m also picking the Tennessee Titans to continue their unbeaten streak at home against the red hot Jets laying 5 points. The Titans are 11-0 but, many handicappers are siding with the Jets to keep it in the number or win outright. My gut tells me that the Titans get stronger and more determined, the more they hear these things. So I’m siding with the home team here against a team that the Titans have beaten 7 out of the past 10 times they’ve played.

My next pick is the Cleveland Browns at home this week hosting the Houston Texans and laying only 3 points. Cleveland looked like they got their mojo back on Monday night and having Brady Quinn QBing has helped immensely too. The home team is 4-1 ATS the last 5 games and the favorite is 4-1 ATS as well. The Browns final won a game after losing the past 2 and the Texans are on a 3 game losing streak and I don’t see this week getting any easier for the Texans. Take Cleveland and lay the FG.

My last pick will be the Washington Redskins on the road at Seattle laying 3.5 points. Washington has a score to settle with Seattle after the Seahawks knocked the Redskins out of the playoffs last year. The Seahawks are 1-4 ATS the last 5 home games while the Redskins are 5-2 ATS their last 7 road games. Seattle doesn’t have a Marion Barber or much of an offense this year at all, due in big part to key injuries. Look for the Redskins to win this game by at least a TD. Lay the 3.5 !

I would love to pick the Giants but they don’t need anyone jinxing them right now 

As for over/unders this week I like the over 48 in the Texans/ Browns game and I also like the over 43 in the Bears/Rams game and the over 40.5 in the Jets/Titans game.

Well that’s it for another week, GOOD LUCK !!
